WSU professor David Warner was assaulted near the Pullman campus early Saturday morning (March 30). According to a report on the incident, police responded at 1:55 a.m. and found Warner unconscious in the Adams Mall parking lot. Warner had reportedly suffered a serious head injury from the assault.
Due to the severity of his injury, Warner was transported from Pullman Regional Hospital to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane later in the morning. He was currently listed in critical condition in the last update, showing just how severe the assault had to be.
Warner is a professor in the Department of Critical Culture, Gender and Race Studies where he teaches three comparative ethnic studies courses. Whether that had any role in the attack has not yet been made clear, nor have the names of any suspects been released.
There were reportedly many people in and around the parking lot at the time of the assault, so there are many potential witnesses that may know who the suspects in the case are. The Pullman Police Department is asking for anyone who saw the assault on WSU professor David Warner take place to call 509-334-0802 immediately.
This case is still under investigation, so expect more information to come out as it is collected.
