What is a J. Spivey production? Well, no matter the lineup it’s going to be the best gospel anywhere! Tonight in Dallas, complete with a lineup worthy of its own “Celebration of Gospel” tag line J. Spivey brought his Gigantic Gospel Concert series to Friendship West for the latest installment. There were some gospel stalwarts and some very surprising new faces to the lineup. Quartet music is very interesting and stands alone though many speculate that the genre has run its course. Tonight’s concert proved that to be untrue.
Though many of the groups have careers spanning 40+ years, both young and old packed the house to see their favorite acts rock Dallas! Tonight’s lineup included: Norris Spivey and Triumph, Rev. Buddy and the Straightway Travelers, Roy and Revelation, George Dean and the Gospel Four, Tim Rogers and the Fellas, Doc McKenzie and the Hi-Lites, Lee Williams and Rance Allen.
The Gigantic Gospel Concert was a celebration of all things right with gospel music. Each artist spoke of their desire to actually minister and reach those listening to their music. The atmosphere in the vestibule actually put concert goers literally feet away from their favorite performers. Tomorrow night, many of tonight’s performers will be in Huntsville sharing the Lord there. The spring installment of The Gigantic Gospel Concert is in the books, Dallas will be waiting with baited breath for J. Spivey this fall!
