This is the time of year for cleaning out closets, reorganizing homes, getting rid of the old and unwanted and buying fresh items for home and wardrobe. It’s exciting, but it doesn’t have to be expensive.
Throughout Wichita there are various second hand shops where consumers can buy used -sometimes new and unused- items for a fraction of department store retail price. Saving money is nothing to frown on and thrift store shopping is also a great way for consumers to give back by supporting businesses who work for a cause. Shopping at privately owned thrift stores is great also because it helps boost the economy. Sellers and buyers win either way.
Wherever you prefer to do thrift store shopping, know that it lends a hand in protecting the environment because it is essential recycling, or ‘re-purposing’. This is green living, folks. It’s nothing to be ashamed of.
Some people do not like to buy used. This is understandable. Many items, however, are in great shape. Some even have name brands and price tags still attached. Below is a reference list of several thrift stores located in W/NW Wichita, Kansas. Each store will receive a follow-up review by our own secret (okay, not so secret) shopper in the weeks to come.
