“Freaks and Geeks” aired on NBC from September 25, 1999 until July 8, 2000. The series, a comedy, was set in Chippewa, Michigan. It focused on the daily lives of William McKinley High School students Lindsay Weir (Linda Cardellini of “Scooby Doo” fame) and her younger brother, Sam (John Francis Daily of “Bones” fame.)
Though the series only lasted one season, it has developed a cult following and has been named in several “best of” television lists.
The cast was pure gold. Many of the young stars have gone on to become household names. Stars such as James Franco (“General Hospital”,) Jason Segel (“How I Met Your Mother,”) Seth Rogen (“The Green Hornet ,”) and Busy Phillips (“Cougar Town,”) were regulars on the series.
