The Oakland Raiders have taken some interest in possibly signing tight end Kellen Winslow who played with the New England Patriots until last September when he suffered from a knee injury.
It was reported in NFL.com that the Raiders had interest back in September for the tight end until the player got hurt. Plus, the Raiders had Brandon Myers who was up and coming.
Now that Myers left the Raiders to go play for the New York Giants next NFL season and Winslow coming back from his six-month healing process, the Raiders are eyeballing the tight end again as reported by NFL.com’s Ian Rapaport on Monday morning.
The article also states that the Cleveland Browns could possibly hunt down Winslow, as they lost their tight ends Jared Cook and Ben Watson.
Also, the Browns new coach is believed to be good friends with Kellen Winslow. They had worked together back in college days at the University of Miami and in Cleveland as well.
On the contrary side to Winslow’s situation, it is not guaranteed that the tight end will be cleared by the NFL doctors. Winslow is still feeling some pain after having a six months off from the sport.
