Hay, hay, it’s The Monkees. Coming off a very successful 2012 fall tour, The Monkees are making their return to Las Vegas for a show August 10 in the Grand Events Center inside Green Valley Ranch Resort. The tour, called “A Midsummer’s Night with The Monkees”, will feature the remaining members of the band’s original lineup, which includes Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork. Fourth member Davy Jones suffered a severe heart in 2012 and died at the age of 66.
The show will include such classic hits as “I’m A Believer,” “Pleasant Valley Sunday,” “Last Train to Clarksville,” and even tracks that they have not performed in over 40 years, plus some fan favorites from their film “Head” as well as from their television series. In addition to the great music, the show will also be a full multi-media event featuring rare and one-of-a-kind photographs and films from The Monkees’ archives.
The Monkees haven’t recorded a new album since 1996′s Just Us.
“I’d love to make a new one. We haven’t had any discussions about that beyond, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool to have a new one?’ We’re just taking this whole thing one step at a time.” – Micky Dolenz.
Did You Know? Michael Nesmith’s mother invented Liquid Paper.
Tickets for The Monkees are: $35, $50, $65 and $79.
Showtime: Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 8 p.m.
