The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), powers Team In Training (TNT) to lead the way in endurance sports training programs for charity.
Coaches will maximize your fitness level for a race to the finish line for personal goals as well as raising donations for researching in treatments for chemotherapy, bone marrow transplants, smart-drugs(aimed at destroying cancer cells) and drugs associated with arthritis and antifungal treatments for specific leukemias. Those interested can choose a full marathon, half marathon or cycling. Training includes, nutrition, hydration and injury prevention clinics all leading up to an incredible weekend of hotel, travel and amazing events.
In 1988 a team was assembled at the NYC Marathon to raise money for LLS founder, Bruce Cleland’s daughter, a leukemia survivor. $322,000 was raised for LLS through the efforts of 38 runners. 25 years later, $1.3 billion and 570,000 participants have contributed to establishing one of the most influential endurance training programs for charity in the world.
The first of six Tampa Bay area meetings will be held at 4949 4th Street N, St. Petersburg, FL on April 16, 2013 at 6:00pm. and 722 South Village Circle Tampa, FL on April 24 at 6:00pm. Registration and additional information is available online.
