Following in the footsteps of such giants as In-N-Out Burger, Starbucks, and Jamba Juice, Sprinkles Cupcakes recently debuted a new secret menu of its own. The bakery is famous for delectable just-right frosted treats that keep fans with a sweet tooth coming back to experience a piece of cupcake heaven.
The first flavor to debut on the Sprinkles secret menu is Neapolitan, a vanilla cupcake with strawberry frosting and dipped in chocolate ganache. Aside from its new secret menu and regular schedule of flavors, Sprinkles keeps things interesting with seasonal flavors, special themed event and celebration boxes, and both vegan and gluten-free red velvet options. Sprinkles is also one company that understands the power of engagement mixed with impeccable customer service. It’s known in social media circles for its frequent specials, such as buy one and get one free day-long deals, requiring the customer to repeat that day’s secret ‘whisper word’ upon checkout. They are also known to do freebie days on their store-opening anniversaries or other special offers when the sports team in your town wins a game. Follow Sprinkles on Twitter or Facebook to be in the know about any of these deals or specials.
It’s been a year of growth for Sprinkles, which began as a haute cupcakery to the stars in Beverly Hills in 2005. Barbra Streisand first discovered Sprinkles and introduced the cupcakes to Oprah who featured them on her talk show, which quickly gained the small bakery national attention. Since then Candace Nelson, cupcake creator and bakery owner, has seen her venture expand into 12 retail locations with 15 more planned including several international locations. In 2012 Sprinkles opened the Cupcake ATM next to its Beverly Hills store, a first in the food world dispensing fresh cupcakes any time day or night. A second Cupcake ATM was opened in Chicago and Sprinkles is working now to bring the Cupcake ATM to several more of their bakeries in the near future. Sprinkles also recently expanded into the ice cream zone, opening a Sprinkles Ice Cream store in Beverly Hills, soon followed by another location in Newport Beach and several other locations planned.
In San Diego, Sprinkles Cupcakes is located in La Jolla near the University of California San Diego, where surfers, students, and sweet addicts all converge to find their favorite delicious cupcake flavor. There are also targeted Sprinkles Twitter and Facebook pages for the San Diego location, so hear daily news on either of those or check out the Sprinkles Cupcakes website for additional information.
