Spring is finally here! Here are a couple of reminders for the upcoming season. I love spring, but hate that thousands of animals that are born each year due to owners that don’t care to spay or neuter their pets. Living in the country we usually end up with at least one litter either kittens or puppies, usually one of us finds these tiny creatures on the road, one tiny little step away from death.
Either death by getting run over or eaten by coyotes. There are so many cheap ways to get your pet altered, that I don’t get the attitude of these people. Even if you have feral cats, humane groups will trap them and alter for next to nothing. Worse that the ferals are the domestic pets left to have litter after litter of unwanted babies that end up wild, in animal control, or left to fend for themselves. Truly sad.
It is also time for heartworm testing and prevention as well as flea and tick control. With the mild winter fleas and ticks will be prolific this year. Start now, if you haven’t already . Local agencies can help with the testing and costs also. Take advantage of their spring deals. Do the responsible thing. Don’t be part of the problem. http://firstname.lastname@example.org
