Good Mews cares for approximately 100 cats at their shelter in Marietta and has placed over 6,700 cats in their forever homes during their 25 years of operation. Cat adoption hours are every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the second, third and fourth Sunday each month from 1 to 4 p.m.
Cinderella is one of the cats currently available for adoption from Good Mews. She is a two year old domestic short hair brown tabby kitty. Here is more about Cinderella from the Good Mews website:
“Cinderella was abandoned and she is still trying to recover from it. She felt very hurt and betrayed and couldn’t understand why someone failed her. All she wants is a loving home where someone will love her and care for her. She is a bit overwhelmed in the shelter and is scared. She is still figuring out that we are all her friends and will never hurt her. She does have a loving side just waiting to come out. Once she has that family she is longing for, she will be a great friend. She will need a quiet home and an adopter willing to work with her and give her the time she needs to adjust. So if you are looking for a sweet girl to join your family, please consider Cinderella.”
About Good Mews Animal Foundation (from a Feb. 1, 2013 Press Release)
“Good Mews was modeled after Tree House, a no-kill, cage-free shelter in Chicago. Its founder, Gloria Skeen, started Good Mews in her Atlanta townhouse in 1988 to provide an alternative to shelters that euthanized unwanted cats. Good Mews, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, was the first no-kill, free-roam, feline-only shelter established in Georgia, housing approximately 100 cats at any given time, with an additional 30+ cats living in foster homes. Located in Marietta, Georgia, Good Mews offers an alternative to traditional animal shelters in the metro Atlanta area by providing a no-kill, cage-free haven for homeless, abused or abandoned cats until placing them in permanent, loving homes.
Good Mews promotes public awareness regarding the value of pets, animal welfare, pet overpopulation and quality human-animal companionship through education and outreach. Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, Good Mews has placed more than 6,700 cats in permanent homes since 1988. The shelter receives no government support, relying instead on donations of time, service, supplies and money from our supporters, the public and area businesses.
Good Mews is located at 736 Johnson Ferry Road, Suite A3, Marietta, GA 30068. For more information and hours, visit www.goodmews.org or call 770-499-CATS (2287).”
