The City of Saginaw just concluded our 2013 shoe drive to benefit SOLES4SOULS® INC., the shoe charity, at the Saginaw Recreation Center. From May 1 thru June 8, 2013, the City of Saginaw collected gently worn or new footwear and/or donations to ship the shoes to a person in need, whether they are victims of a natural disaster or subject to living in extreme poverty. This event is held in conjunction with the Run the Rails 5k race event. This year, we collected 596 pair of shoes! Over the past three years, we’ve collected 2056 pair of shoes in our shoes drives. Thank you to all who donated.
