According to the National Lacrosse League website, the Calgary Roughnecks have returned to first place in the National Lacrosse League’s Western Division.
On Saturday night at the Comcast Arena in Everett, Washington, the Roughnecks defeated the Washington Stealth 13-11 to move into a first place tie with the Edmonton Rush at 8-5. The Rush were idle for week 13.
After am evenly played first three quarters where the Stealth had a slim 7-6 lead, the Roughnecks broke out in the fourth quarter outscoring Washington 7-4.
Shawn Evans of Peterborough, Ontario led the Roughnecks in scoring with a goal and six assists, while Curtis Dickson of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia scored four times.
With the loss, the Stealth drop to 7-6. This is the first game of a back-to-back between the Roughnecks and the Stealth. They will play next Saturday night on April 6 at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Game time will be 7:05 p.m.
