Vodka is great.
There it is.
Exclusive, exquisite, and unusual drink recipes make it exciting, and using good vodka makes an exciting drink something worth enjoying. Exclusiv Vodka makes all of your dreams come true — if you dream about having fun drinks with good vodka every night.
Exclusiv Vodka has received very high marks across the board for both taste and being wallet-friendly. See this Examiner review for more info. Exclusiv has been hard at work since releasing its flagship classic vodka and has launched Rosé Exclusiv, a raspberry-flavored vodka with moscato rose wine.
Rosé Exclusiv is the sixth product in the Exclusiv lineup and is the first rosé vodka in the industry to use moscato wine in a vodka to create a true Rosé Vodka flavor.
The pink coloring may frighten some guys out there, but the aroma is light and mouth-watering. As sad as it may sound, it’s one of those nice, sweet smells that would act nicely as air freshener — then you might snap back to reality that you’re considering vodka as an air freshener.
The taste is very smooth and is tamed down from the moscato wine. It’s quite worth a straight sip, shot, or being poured over ice, leaving you with a pleasant and fruity aftertaste. The one drawback that some might consider is it is very sweet. However, people who have opinions like that probably are more of the whiskey folk.
Exclusiv, a product of Moldova, provided the Rosé for review and I was thrilled to give it a shot, especially after reviewing their classic vodka. As you know from that review, I really enjoyed the classic and highlighted its capability to be a vodka to have on-hand for every situation from casual drinks to unusual, exciting cocktails.
Rosé is a new staple for fun flavored vodkas. I spent some time with this type of vodka, which is completely new to me, to ensure I gave it the attention it deserves. I tried it with several drinks, ranging from On The Rocks, to mixed with Sprite, to Cosmos, to a couple custom cocktails by Aaron and Daniel Seelbinder.
Easy drinks: the day-to-day drinks are not lost in vodka moscato, which is what I expected, considering the type of spirit it is, its color, and being an industry first. However, Rosé Exclusiv provides a delicious change of pace to the typical lazy person or bar drinks. It’s very refreshing and, though I didn’t go this far, I got the feeling that it would be very easy to get carried away with these drinks. I don’t fair well with high-sugar drinks like this (blame on the pop/soda), so I wouldn’t have more than one or two for caution over gut-rot. Despite all of that, it’s delicious.
Real, custom cocktails: the wonderful folks at Exclusiv gave me two custom cocktails to try after I got in touch with them about having no idea how to make and mix with a moscato vodka. Here are two amazing ideas to try:
Moldova Mule by Daniel Seelbinder
1.5 OZ of Exclusiv Rose
Fresh Lime and Raspberries
Build in copper mug
This. Was. Thrilling. It is perfect for sunny weather and friends. That exact situation with this drink in-hand actually saved me from a harsh bout of spring fever up here in Minnesota (we still have snow in the forecast). I highly recommend this drink, especially in the copper mug for extra cheer. I made this in the company of friends and didn’t get professional photos of the drinks – my one regret. I muddled my raspberries in the mug, but you don’t have to if you don’t like chunks. I would give this drink a 2/5 stars.
Ileana’s Torch by Aaron Seelbinder
1.5 ounce Exclusiv Rose
.75 ounce Marischino Liquor
.75 ounce fresh lime juice
Dash habanero tincture
Chilled and double strained into a cocktail glass
This drink was very unusual for me and exciting, but not quite my style. Like I said before, the pink color may scare away some guys. I’m afraid this happened a bit to me, which may have skewed my opinion of it. I tried it twice to be sure and it’s just not for me. One great aspect to this drink, which I added the second time around was rimming the glass with Zulka Cane Sugar , which was a tasty addition. The one very-close-to-redeeming factor was the habanero tincture.
(Side note: habanero tincture is a homemade infusion of dried habaneros in vodka that adds a killer kick to select cocktails)
The drink is unique and redeeming because of the tincture, otherwise, it would just be something too sweet and gut-rotty for me. If you don’t have the tincture, like I didn’t at first, allow time to make it as it will not disappoint you. I tried cayenne pepper as a replacement beforehand to try to get a similar experience; the idea somewhat worked, but wasn’t quite right. This is solely based on my taste pallet, but I would give this drink a 2/5 stars.
The new Exlusiv Rosé raspberry flavored vodka infused with moscato wine is a must-try. It is not going to be for everyone and might be limiting for some people due to its flavoring and sweetness. Regardless, it will be a quick win for creative bartenders, whether for fun or professional, and will absolutely draw the drinker in for questions like, “What is this?” and “Can I have another one of these?”
