Ringo Starr will take his current version of the All-Starr Band on a new tour that will cover Mexico, South America and two U.S. shows in October and November, he announced early Monday.
The group will do 12 shows, including seven in South America and three in Mexico, with the final two at the Palms in Las Vegas. The All-Starrs, which feature Steve Lukather (Toto), Richard Page (Mr. Mister), Gregg Rolie (Santana), Todd Rundgren, Mark Rivera and Gregg Bissonette, just wrapped up a tour in the Pacific Rim including dates in New Zealand, Australia and Japan.
The group is featured in a recently released DVD, “Ringo at the Ryman,” which was filmed at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Ringo’s birthday on July 7, 2012 during the All Starr Band’s summer tour.
On April 20, in conjunction with Record Store Day, Universal Music also released a Ringo Starr seven-inch vinyl singles collection, featuring “Photograph,” “It Don’t Come Easy” and “(It’s All Down To) Goodnight Vienna.”
Ringo posted a tribute to George Jones over the weekend on his @ringostarrmusic. His post read, “Ringo would like to say thank you to George Jones for all the great music is the love and God rest you.” Jones died Friday at 81.
