Rick Springfield was arrested Friday, March 8 outside of his home. Today.com reported on March 9 that the “Jessie’s Girl” singer was arrested under a bench warrant. He missed a court date on Wednesday in regards to a past DUI arrest.
Apparently, the cops caught up with Springfield. Springfield said that he was arrested at his “home away from home.” He also said that he “didn’t know” he missed his DUI court date for his charge. Springfield thought that the charge was clear and he was free to leave.
The former singer and soap opera also missed a gig due to his arrest. He apologized to his fans on Facebook. He remained hopeful, though. He said that his arrest made for an interesting time in his life.
Springfield was arrested for a DUI back in May 2011. Police pulled Springfield over when they caught him speeding down the Pacific Coast Highway. Springfield pleaded no contest. He was charged with reckless driving with “DUI Conditions” and was ordered to take a three-month alcohol education program.
This isn’t his first arrest. He was arrested back in 2000 for spousal abuse. His wife Barbara Springthorpe had apparent “minor injuries” on her face and arms.
Rick Springfield is best known for his hit song, “Jessie’s Girl.” He was also a soap opera hunk on ABC’s “General Hospital.”
