The eclectic restaurant lineup at Tivoli Village in Summerlin continues to grow with rustic establishments that deliver comfort and relaxation with fun flavor. Pizza Lounge follows this motif to a T, holding the inviting ambiance you’ll find in eateries throughout the plaza, with low prices that open up the experience to a broad crowd. Groups of all sorts will find this casual setup ideal for fun Italian fare and the chance to build a tranquil summer memory.
Appetizers boast most of the classic items you’d find in American-Italian cuisine. The pepperoni calzone breadsticks come out exactly as they sound, where the dish is essentially sliced up, garnished with Parmesan and served with Marinara for dipping. The lobster mac ‘n’ cheese delivers rich taste with a smooth cheese sauce and hearty chunks of its namesake.
Pizza is, of course, the name of the game here. Pizza Lounge serves up a myriad of creations with toppings that emulate classics from across the globe. Guests marvel over the chipotle shrimp, with cream sauce, mozzarella, spinach, zesty shrimp and a sweet plum sauce drizzle combining for rich flavor and velvety character. The chicken pesto holds hearty chicken with grilled peppers and onions, and would be that much better if only served with more pesto sauce. Pies can be made to share or in personal- portions, which come out in flatbread size.
Pastas don’t appear with the same extensive variety but hold distinguishing character that makes them just as viable an option. The lobster ravioli comes out with ricotta-filled squares, hearty cream sauce and generous portions of lobster on top. Not necessarily the biggest portion, but overwhelmingly more satisfying than the 2-3 pieces you’d receive in some other Italian establishments.
Dessert features several options for chocolate decadence. The flourless raspberry tart, brownie-like in consistency, melds just enough tart flavor with rich chocolate taste, served a la mode. Chocolate mousse cake comes out as a tall layering with thick mousse and an indulgent chocolate covering, also served with vanilla ice cream.
A healthy wine and artisanal beer selection offers a drink to complement most any order. Friendly service is headed by owners Ken Henderson and Gary Decker, accomplished restaurant gurus dedicated to giving customers a reason to return time and time again. A comfortable patio seat on a warm evening invites guests to simply pause and take in the city’s beauty.
