Miami Fashion Week wrapped up in style by hosting over 60 designers from 25 countries who showcased their latest collections before audiences filled with celebrities, socialites and other notables eager to mark the show’s 15th anniversary.
Over its 15 years, the show has become the largest Latin American and international fashion event in the U.S. It also attracts celebrities, socialites and other notables. Among those seen were acctress and singer Paula Rubino, Latin Grammy winning singer Luis Fonsi and People in Espanol’s fashion and beauty director Kiki Rocha, Soccer star Jorge Bernal, among others. In addition, several cast members of the TV reality series, “The Real Housewives of Miami,” also turned out.
This year, Miami Fashion Week honored Carlos Miele with the International Designer of the Year Award to kick off the four-day event. Miele, known for his creative convergence of cut and design, and for honoring his Brazilian roots, counts celebrities including Rihanna, Blake Lively and Beyonce as fans.
The designer’s latest fashions were shown throughout the week in twelve multi-designer runway shows. In addition, the jewelry and accessory marketplace was featured in the Miami Beach Convention Center’s “Fashion City,” comprised of gourmet cafes with celebrity chefs, international designer pop-up shops, along with a luxury wedding pavilion showcasing international bridal designers.
Among the show’s featured designers were Peru’s Italia Testino, Raafla Husain from Pakistan, Heather Jones from Trinidad & Tobago, SEEN by Sumayyah Al Suwaidi-Dubai, Dusko Orascanin-Bosnia & Herzegovina, Mike Sylla for Baifall Dream-Africa, Dolcevita Cashmere by Veronica Zorzi-Italy, Denim Down by Andrew Payne-USA, I Love Fashion TV Collection-Global, Julian Chang, Vivana G. for Petit Pos, Nicolas Felizola, Art of Shade by Kayce Armstrong, Fabrizio de Castro, Erin Healy, Lisa Vega, Fadila Kihel Algeria, Duchesa by Robin Fleming, Spain’s Rosalinda Quesada Silva, Ecuador’s Carolina Lopez, Mathilde D’Apuzzo-Venezuela, Danielle Queller, Chile’s Claudia Anicy Manuguian, Italy’s Davmani by Marie Fortin, Damiano Marini, Francesca Lodi, Marco Calamassi for Luxus Italy, Azzurre F.A. Fashion, MacchiaJ, and many more.
