Louisville face off against the Duke Blue Devils on Easter Sunday Mar. 31, 2013, in a bid to reach the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in years. Head coach Rick Pitino will be hoping to get the best out of Mike Krzyzewski, but it is truly the players on the court that will decide that.
Duke defeated Louisville in the Bahama’s earlier in the season 74-71. However, at that time the Cardinals were without the services of starting center, Gorgui Dieng who was sidelined with a wrist injury.
Dieng has been providing excellent defense for the Cardinals as an all-out post protector so far this tournament as well as having shot 14 of 16 from the field when he has the opportunity to provide a little offense as well.
In his team’s Sweet 16 match with Oregon, Dieng was a force on both ends of the floor. He had 10 points, nine rebounds, four blocks, two steals and two assists. His opponent for the night against Duke will be Mason Plumlee who scored 16 points and had seven rebounds the last time the two teams faced off.
