A man has been arrested and charged with murdering his 2 month old niece.
According to published reports, shortly before 11pm on Thursday Harford County police and paramedics from the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company responded to a 911 call from a home in the 2000 block of Bay Meadows Court in Forest Hill where they found a 2 month old infant female with obvious injuries to her face. Her grandmother, 52 year old Rebecca Wolf informed police that when she left the home around 9:45pm to visit family, the baby was sleeping in her bassinet and she left the baby in the care of 19 year old Colin Christopher Wolf, the infant’s uncle.
When she returned around 10:50pm, Colin immediately left the home and she discovered the child had been injured.
She immediately called 911.
The baby was transported to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air and later transferred to John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore where she was listed in critical condition with life threatening injuries. She later died on Friday at 10:59am.
Investigators believe the baby was hit in the face.
Colin, who attended Bel Air High School and worked at Mars Supermarket has developmental disabilities. Although he left as soon as the infant’s grandmother returned home, police found him in the 1800 block of Trudeau Court in Forest Hill and he was arrested.
Charged with first degree murder, second degree murder, first degree assault, second degree assault and child abuse, Colin is being held without bond in the Harford County Detention Center.
