A number of media reports have revealed that Lindsay Lohan has demanded that she be allowed to continue using the prescription drug Adderall while in rehab. The New York Daily News reported on Monday, April 1 that Lohan’s lawyer Mark Heller has stated that the reports are false, and that Lindsay Lohan has not made any demands regarding Adderall use during her rehab stay.
Previous court reports from 2010 have revealed that Lindsay Lohan has in fact been using Adderall for ‘as long as she can remember.’ The celebrity news site TMZ claims that their sources have revealed that Lindsay Lohan has requested that during her 90 day lock-down that she be permitted to continue her use of Adderall.
Lohan claims that she uses Adderall to treat attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, but the drug is often abused by others looking to achieve a high similar to cocaine.
Yahoo News reports that in May of 2012, Lindsay’s father Michael Lohan blasted her prescription pill use, revealing in court documents to include anti-depressants Zoloft and Trazodone, Adderall, and the super-strength painkiller Dilaudid for her previous dental issues. “The meds that they give her are meds that they say she needs, but she doesn’t need them,” Michael said at the time. “They kind of make her flat. She’s not acting at a full potential. It’s like the screen is down over her.”
Lindsay’s lawyer Mark Jay Heller insisted that her use of the prescription drug was never discussed with the prosecutors. “Prosecutors or the court would never interject themselves into medical determinations,” he told the New York Daily News.
“Patients traditionally apprise facilities of what medications, if any, they’re prescribed, and after a full series of medical evaluations, each facility determines what medications, if any, are going to be allowed. This is never dictated by the patient. It’s always determined by medical staff who are well qualified.”
As previously reported Lindsay Lohan’s rehab lock down is already becoming increasingly complicated due to the fact that a full lock down rehab doesn’t seem to exist in the states that Lindsay Lohan would like to serve her time in.
Lindsay is also continuing to make news headlines with her drinking and clubbing despite her recent court plea, and the judge’s stipulations concerning the terms of the plea deal.
Until the court decides one way or another about Lohan’s Adderall demands it appears that Lindsay is content to do just what what she does best, ignoring the authorities, the laws, and living in her own LiLo land.
Do you think that Lindsay Lohan should be permitted to use Adderalll while serving her 90 day lock down sentence?
