When I first started practicing law, I would have to carry all of my files and paperwork in a briefcase that I’d schlep down on my shoulder down the street to the Circuit Court. I can’t even begin to describe how unpleasant that was in the summertime . . . plus, it did a number on my back. Carrying heavy copies of the Maryland Annotated Code was quite a burden.
When I would arrive, I had to kind of smooth out classic legal sized papers that were too big for the briefcase and I had just shoved them in there.
As the years went on, one would see attorneys who had many clients that day — Public Defenders, usually — putting files in a milk carton and jerry-rigging the contraption on a trucking dolly. Not too stylish.
Times, thankfully, have changed. eBags to the rescue again, with their TLS Vertical Mobile Office! I am very happy to have been hosted to be able to describe it.
It’s a rolling cube shape that has room for your files, laptop, tablet, wallet and even a change of clothes! There’s a padded, removable sleeve for your laptop, fitting like a life preserver, all protected and snug. It’s even got removable pillows inside, in case you have an oddly sized laptop. There’s a removable folder case, long enough for legal files. Different sections can keep personal and work things separate. This is the perfect way to bring a fresh shirt, perhaps an extra pair of shoes to change into. The telescoping handle extends higher than most ever will, so if you’re taller, you don’t have to bruise your shins — always a plus.
This luggage piece doesn’t waste any space: there are tons of secret pockets and compartments, to keep cords, pens, pads or other necessities at the ready. Imagine how calm, cool and collected you’ll be for your next offsite presentation.
