Defense attorneys in the Jodi Arias case are seeking a mistrial in her murder case alleging juror misconduct, according to an April 2, 2013 ABC News report.
Arias, 32, is charged with the brutal 2008 murder of her former lover, Arizona man Travis Alexander, 30. He was stabbed over two dozen times, was shot in the head, and his throat was slashed. She claims she killed him in self-defense, but during the trial Arias has testified she does not remember much about the deadly confrontation.

In legal documents the accused murderers lawyers allege that during closed proceedings that took place last week, misconduct was discovered regarding the jury. As an alternative to a mistrial, they also note that dismissing the juror would also take care of the issue.

ABC reports that just last week Arias’ attorneys alleged prosecutorial misconduct, claiming prosecutor Juan Martinez was posing for photos and signing autographs in front of the courthouse. They argued that if any jurors witnessed such behavior, the jury may have become tainted.
