Mike Janosik is no stranger with regard to high-scoring bowling accomplishments, and last week was no exception for the 21-year-old Port Charlotte righthander.
Last Monday night, Janosik pounded out games of 268, 233 and 299 for an 800 series in the Adam & Eve Mixed League at Bowland Port Charlotte, raising his average to 222. And two nights later in the Al Davis Memorial League at the same center, he upped his average to 230 with a 747 series on games of 255, 245 and 247.
The only recent perfect game to report from area centers was posted by Gerald Lord, who rolled games of 170 and 200 before blasting a 300 to complete a 670 series in the Guys & Dolls League at Treasure Lanes.
Three bowlers earned 11-in-a-row honors, two of them in the Gormans & Avare Enterprises League at AMF Venice. John Dolby fired a 298 game to complete a 696 series, while Mike Zink had a 290 game to cap a 721 series in that league, while Scott Baylor had a 290 game in the middle of 642 series in the Kays-Ponger-Uselton Men’s League at Treasure Lanes.
Four area players posted games of at least 100 pins over their respective averages. Justin Morrow had a 111-over 267 game in the Wednesday Mixed League at Englewood Bowl, Tony Muso had a 108-over 289 in the Tuesday Men’s League at Treasure Lanes, Tim Fowler was 108-over with a 278 in the Yoder’s Restaurant League at Sarasota Lanes, and Darrell Young had a 106-over 268 in the Guys & Dolls League at Treasure Lanes.
In the category of far-over-average series, George LeMunyon posted a 160-over 766 that included a 279 game in the Beef O’Brady’s/Parquette Insurance League at Treasure Lanes, while Steve Weisenburger had a 145-over 766 with the help of a 277 game in the Kays-Ponger-Uselton Men’s League at Treasure Lanes.
