May has been officially declared as the “Interviewing the Indies” month. As such, all month there will be posts containing interviews with indie authors. Today’s guest is Rachael Rawlings, author of Dearly Departed.
What do you have published?
My novels are primarily mysteries, some with a paranormal twist, and all with a touch of romance. I like to look to the other side of reality, and the just possible.
What are you currently working on?
I am editing my second stand alone novel, a mystery where the only witness is a talking parrot, an African Grey.
I am also completing the rough draft of the second novel in my Grave Reminders series, a YA paranormal mystery romance, the follow up to Dearly Departed.
How do you stay motivated?
Writing for me is not a choice. The stories have always been there in my head, it’s just a matter of getting them in print.
What has been the most challenging aspect of being an indie author?
The most challenging part is not the writing or the editing, it’s getting the word out about my books.
As a writer, what is the one thing you cannot live without? Why?
Got to have coffee, but technology has made it so much easier to write anywhere and with ease.
You can purchase any of the Indie YA Books from amazon. Stay tuned for more Interviewing the Indies, happening all May long!
