May has been officially declared as the “Interviewing the Indies” month. As such, all month there will be posts containing interviews with indie authors. Today’s guest is Erin Danzer, author of Into the Spiral.
What do you have published?
Into the Spiral, book one in a 4-book YA SciFi/Romance series
What are you currently working on?
Polishing up book three of the same series, working on book four, also have a few other things in the works, including a vampire/werewolf/hunter novel (YA of course)
How do you stay motivated?
When I’m feeling less than inspired, I will take a couple days and read as many books as my time allows. Then I take a look at what I’m working on and jump back in. I usually work on multiple projects at once, so there’s always something to grab my attention.
What has been the most challenging aspect of being an indie author?
Marketing, definitely. Even being pubbed by a small press, I’m the primary person to get the word out about my books and what’s going on. But I am learning new things all the time, figuring out what works and doesn’t.
As a writer, what is the one thing you cannot live without? Why?
Notebooks and pens, and my laptop. I would be lost without those three things, especially my red notebook.
You can purchase any of the Indie YA Books from amazon. Stay tuned for more Interviewing the Indies, happening all May long!
