May has been officially declared as the “Interviewing the Indies” month. As such, all month there will be posts containing interviews with indie authors. Today’s guest is Alexandra Lanc, author of several shorts, novellas, and novels including The Ending, Cara Claus, and Shadows of Past Memories.
What do you have published?
I write Young Adult, New Adult, and Adult in a variety of genres, spanning Fantasy and Sci-Fi, though I am known to pen Contemporary and Poetry, too. My works focus heavily on characters and their struggles in life, with interesting, artful, and thought-provoking plots to make reading a delight.
What are you currently working on?
I am currently working on a variety of projects, most notably the next installments in my Reader Participation series, where readers have a say in what happens next, and my fan-favorite bestseller Holiday series, Snowflake Triplet, the next book of which will be out this November.
How do you stay motivated?
I have very supportive fans and friends who keep me motivated by reading, reviewing, or just being there to push me along when I need it.
What has been the most challenging aspect of being an indie author?
Getting recognized and building a fan base, definitely. There are so many wonderful authors out there, and every author has someone who will love their book – they only have to be discovered.
As a writer, what is the one thing you cannot live without? Why?
Earl Grey tea. It helps wake me up in the morning, and I find the familiar scent calming when I’m stressed from tackling writing.
You can purchase any of the Indie Young Adult Books from amazon. Stay tuned for more Interviewing the Indies, happening all May long!
