The focus was on the resurrection of Jesus Christ in most churches today, Easter Sunday, March 31.
At New Canaan Worship Center in Richmond, Virginia the story of the resurrection was told through songs, praise dances and a drama from the music ministry including pianist, James Paige and the combined choir.
Leading up to the resurrection of Jesus were snippets of Jesus’ ministry such as healing the demonic, the lepers, and Jairus’ daughter.
One scene was about people looking for Jesus, but he had already been crucified and risen.
James Paige introduced the word “Selah” which means to pause and think about it. Then the choir sang the song about “Selah” to encourage people to “think about” all Jesus has done by dying on the cross and being raised from the dead.
Afterward Pastor Lois Paige admonished the congregation with these words:
“Go and keep moving for you shall see the glory of the Lord.”
The format was different from the usual Sunday morning sermons; however, it was an age old message:
“He is risen!”
