Dear Readers, you know how I love to share cool things with you, and I love it when you and share them with me, too. Recently I wrote a review of a charming metaphysical book for kids called The Little Bright Lights, Mariah and Jo in Lemuria, written by Colleen Costello. In talking with Colleen, she mentioned The Eden Magazine, and after checking it out, I couldn’t wait to share it with you. Maryam Morrison is the Founder, Editor, and Publisher, and here she is to tell us about her fabulous project:
Sherri: Hi Maryam! I love your mission statement for Eden Magazine; will you share it with my Readers?
Maryam: Absolutely! The Eden Magazine is a free online magazine focusing on spreading compassion to all sentient beings, and living in a healing and peaceful world. Animal Welfare and Environment Protection are very important components of my reasons for starting this magazine, and one of my goals is to help others discover the path to peaceful living among other living beings. Eden magazine is all about respecting and honoring not only human beings, but animals, plants and everything in our beautiful Universe because we are all connected.
Sherri: We are all connected. The fact that we’re all connected is something that I write and talk about all the time. I think the more we come to understand the truth in that statement, the more peaceful this planet will become and the faster human beings will evolve. Maryam, I’m a vegetarian, an animal rights activist, and I talk to plants and hug trees. I know that you have said that we are all made of vibration and light, a statement with which I wholeheartedly agree. The fact that a magazine now exists that’s concerned with the wellbeing of all who share our planet, not just human beings indicates the progress that our species is making. What made you decide to start an online magazine?
Maryam: With the rise of the online sector as the primary source of news and communications, I knew that’s where Eden Magazine needed to be. The internet is a great medium to reach people all over the world and illustrate that we can live in a world that’s healthier, in harmony, and cruelty-free. The goal of Eden Magazine goal is to promote inner change, and my intent is to inspire everybody who reads the magazine through our art, articles and pictures to help created a better way to live on this beautiful planet of ours. Being online extends our reach exponentially.
Sherri: Just to give folks an idea of what they’ll find in an issue of The Eden Magazine, can you share with us some what’s contained in your most recent issue?
Maryam: Sherri, we have all of our back issues available on the magazine’s website, and in our April 2013 issue we have articles about following your heart, Earth Day, the Divine nature of peace, Being in the flow, Shamanism, and much, much more. In fact, we are looking for articles that encourage strong and positive changes, so, Readers of this column, please feel free to submit your articles to me via the magazine’s website! Together we will make a difference!
Maryam, thank you so much for sharing with us today. We’re out of space for today’s column but I have guest columnists all the time, and I would love for you to come back and write a joint column or two with me! Your work is so important and it’s such an honor for me to help spread the word about The Eden Magazine. Readers, check out this magazine—you will be glad you did! Namaste.
