AbcNews.com announced this big story from Google, April 29, 2013. Google is now releasing their personal assistant Google Now for Apple’s iPhone and iPad through Google’s Search app that is now available in the Apple App Store.
The iOS version of Google Now will be similar to the version that recently premiered on Android smart phones. Google Now tailors itself to the users daily routine. It will continually show you the most current weather throughout the day, remind the user of their next appointment, show the fastest way to get home from work at any time of the day, and it’s constantly learning to adjust its information to best suit the individual user.
Our goal is to get you the right information, at just the right time,” Google CEO Larry Page said of the service on the company’s earnings call last week. (AbcNews.com)”
Even though Apple has been pursuing Cloud services, Google has placed a stronger emphasis on tying more of those services to apps. A lot of Apple’s Cloud services are more of a background infrastructure,” Ross Rubin, principal analyst of Reticle Research, told ABC News. (AbcNews.Com)”
Everyone loves a little friendly competition. This latest addition of Google Now to Apple iPhone and iPad will bring out the best products in two of the worlds top technology companies Google and Apple. It will be fascination to watch how Apple will strive to differentiate Siri from Google Now to entice users to Siri.
