Southern NASCAR fans are treated to back-to-back Sprint Cup Spring races early in the long 36 point- event season.
Talladega Superspeedway hosts Aaron’s Dream Weekend, the Aaron’s 499, on May 3-5. Darlington Raceway honors moms with its Mother’s Day race the following weekend. The Bojangles’ Southern 500 brings action to the legendary South Carolina track on May 9-11.
Promotional departments for Talladega Superspeedway and Darlington Raceway are busy creating and arranging moments to precede green flags.
Talladega notes that Clint Bowyer, an Elvis Presley fan, is eager to write his own song to accompany his past winning efforts. Darlington Raceway has worked with the South Carolina Education Lottery and an instant ticket is the result.

Two-time Talladega Superspeedway NASCAR Sprint Cup Series winner Clint Bowyer, a noted Elvis Presley fan, says he’s ready to “Rock and Roll” and get to one of his favorite race tracks – Talladega Superspeedway – for the Aaron’s Dream Weekend, May 3-5. With two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series triumphs under his belt at TSS, the Kansas native says he wants to write his own music to the tune of another victory at the unpredictable track in the Aaron’s 499 on May 5.
If that happens, what could Clint’s first words be when he climbs from his car? “Thank you. Thank you very much,” sounds likely. Maybe one day he could be dubbed “The King” of Talladega.
The most competitive racing in NASCAR combined with a mix of southern hospitality returns to Talladega Superspeedway May 3-5 for the Aaron’s Dream Weekend.

The South’s love affair with racing is now celebrated on an instant ticket from the South Carolina Education Lottery.
Players will get their first look at FAN-tastic!, an officially licensed NASCAR® game, when tickets go on sale today at lottery retailers statewide.
FAN-tastic!, with a top prize of $100,000, offers racing fans a second-chance opportunity to win Special Insider trips to Darlington Raceway or the Biggest Race in NASCAR®. Tickets are $5.
It’s fitting for the Lottery to launch a racing-themed ticket and pay homage to Darlington Raceway, a part of the racing landscape of this state for more than six decades. An iconic image of cars racing out of the turn at the track known as “Too Tough to Tame” is the artwork for the FAN-tastic! ticket.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the South Carolina Education Lottery on this instant ticket,” Darlington Raceway President Chris Browning said. “It’s a natural fit to have a South Carolina icon like Darlington Raceway and the legendary Bojangles’ Southern 500 featured on a ticket.”
Four South Carolina Education Lottery players will experience the track in person at the 2014 Bojangles’ Southern 500®, when their names are drawn from second-chance entries received to win a Special Insider trip to Darlington. Two additional winners will get to travel to the first official NASCAR® sanctioned race of the 2014 season in Daytona Beach, FL.
