There’s nothing like a not-to-be-missed conference and exposition in your own backyard. Which is why local and statewide business owners should register for the 5th annual Florida Green Energy & Climate Conference/Expo scheduled for Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach.
The purpose of the event is to bring together eco businesses with Florida municipalities, counties and regional agencies to discuss and showcase sustainable ways of fulfilling Florida’s energy needs through the use of green technology.
The Conference includes the 100 Cities Summit which will provide public and private partnership presentations. General sessions and panels will present experts on different industries including utility, solar, agriculture, government, design, construction, academia, technology, transportation and financial – all with the goal of creating an environmentally sustainable and “smart” Florida.
Day 1 of the Conference will feature a welcome from Palm Beach County Commissioner Shelley Vana and a keynote address by Patrick J. Sheehan, director of the Florida Office of Energy. That will be followed by general sessions and presentations such as “The Regulatory Challenges of ‘Getting It Done’” and “Accelerating Commercial PACE – How Do We Catalyze the Market.”
Day 2 will include keynote speeches and presentations including one by the City of Wellington on “Improving Your City’s Bottom Line Through Environmental Waste Disposal, “ as well as “Waste Management: Think Green and Grow Your Business” and “21st Century Transportation Alternatives for Our State.” There will also be a lunchtime presentation entitled “The Economic Impact of Climate Change.”
The program includes breakfast, lunch and cocktail receptions that serve as great networking opportunities with venture capitalists, other business owners, and city and state government officials.The Exposition will be open from 7:30 a.m.- 6 p.m. in Wednesday, May 22 and 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on Thursday, May 23.
