It’s time for spring cleaning, and here’s your chance to donate all those gently used, small household items you no longer need to a great cause. The Cat Adoption & Pet Information Center, better known as CAPIC Cats, has scheduled a garage sale this Friday and Saturday, May 3 and 4, in Raritan, New Jersey.
“All proceeds generated from our garage sale will be used for the medical treatment of the kittens and cats that we rescue,” said Hope Valenti, spokesperson for CAPIC. “We specialize in Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and our monthly medical expenses can be quite high during kitten season, which is now upon us.”
Every cat or kitten that is rescued by CAPIC volunteers is spayed or neutered and receives FIV / FLV testing and vaccinations. If a cat or kitten is found ill, it is fostered and medically cared for until it is well enough to either be released back to its colony or put up for adoption.
CAPIC does not have an adoption facility or shelter. Therefore, they rely entirely on foster care for their adoptable cats and kittens. Volunteers are always welcome.
Donations of small, gently used household items in good condition are being accepted at 6 Bell Avenue, Raritan up until the day of the sale which will take place at the same location. Garage sale hours are 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. both days.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with specific questions and to arrange the delivery of items. CAPIC is a 501(c)(3) organization and therefore can provide tax donation receipts to those who ask for documentation.
CAPIC can be reached at 6 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869. Telephone: 908-393-2007
You can view their adoptable cats and kittens online at Petfinder and meet the cats and kittens in person every Saturday during their weekly adoption event at Amwell Pet Supply in Hillsborough from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. An application for adoption is required.
Amwell Pet Supply is located at 434 Route 206 South, Hillsborough, NJ 08844 Telephone: 908-359-5117. The owner, Hope Valenti, is also a CAPIC board member and takes special interest in offering superior customer service at her store and helping pet owners with all their needs.
