Disney announced the voice talent for it’s new summer film “Planes.”
On March 26, Disney not only released the photos of the characters, but also the voice talent.
“Planes looks a bit like “Cars,” but if it isn’t broken why fix it, right.
Disney was originally going to take “Planes” direct to video with Jon Cryer as the main character of Dusty. The studio built by a mouse changed their mind when Cryer dropped out and finish sequences impressed the suits at the studio. Now Disney has Dane Cook and will have a great summer film with “Planes” opening on Aug 9, 2013.
Disney is depending on the unproven director, Klay Hall. Hall’s last film was a Disney direct to video film entitled “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure.” Obviously, Disney was in intending on a direct to video film.
Producer, Traci Balthazor is equally unproven with her last outing being “Bambi II,” another direct to video film.
However, Disney put the Executive Producing job in solid hands with John Lasseter who was the EP for “Monster U, Wreck-It-Ralph, Brave and Cars.”
It looks like this will be a great Disney summer.
