If your house is full of stuff, all the blessings that could fill your house can’t get in. The stuff takes over. It robs you psychologically. You can’t be at peace.

The spring season is a time of rebirth — grasses are greener, sprigs grow, bulbs abloom, young birds chirping. As how nature reacts to Spring, the season gives us an opportunity for renewal and perhaps revisit resolutions some of us (in the northern hemisphere) made a few months back during the turn of the year. Spring presents another opportunity to ask what can we let go and de-clutter not just our living spaces but inner spaces as well in order to renew ourselves.
Ask “what can I let go?…What can I let go to make room for the ‘new’?” Ask this question in each of the facets of your being — physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and purpose.
On the physical aspect, are there some old habits or routines that needs to be replaced or simply let go? Are there things I have not used and perhaps best to be donated?
Emotionally, are there sentiments or emotions that perhaps have no more valid ground? Am I just holding on to old sentiments or holding on because of notions that need to be revisited?
Mentally, do I have self-limiting beliefs? Or perhaps opinions or views that need to change along with changing environment or evolving society?
Spiritually, is there deep-rooted sensation long ignored and needs to be addressed? Or perhaps an inner void long ignored because it is easier to do so?
Purpose, having asked all the above or other questions one can always have, ask what can be changed and done now? Purpose, of course, can always be the first realistic steps that one will have no excuse to take. Ask, am I true to myself as I pondered and answered my questions?
