As the first seeds of this blog began to form I texted my dear friend, Margaux, for advice. She explained domain names, key word searches and began feeding me ideas. I wanted something modern and contemporary but I was not satisfied with those two words because I feel they are overused. I had an opportunity to ask my spiritual advisor what word came to her mind and she suggested current! The word flowed off her lips like a salty, ocean spray.
My next step, because I am anal that way, was to look the word current up in my Websters Collegiate Dictionary, this particular dictionary was a gift from my Uncle Walt for graduation.
Definition of CURRENT http://www.merriam-we…
1 a: the part of a fluid body (as air or water) moving continuously in a certain direction b: the swiftest part of a stream c: a tidal or non tidal movement of lake or ocean water d: flow marked by force or strength
2 a: a tendency or course of events that is usually the result of an interplay of forces <currents of public opinion> b: a prevailing mood : strain
3 : a flow of electric charge; also: the rate of such flow
When I read the first definition I was astonished and amazed and thankful. This definition is exactly what I wanted this blog to be about. I redefined the word for my purposes.
1. a: a swift group of humans marked by a force of love and strength that is moving continuously in the direction of Jesus Christ.
Thank you, my spiritual advisor, for giving me the word current!
Thank you Margaux for supporting me even when all I do is whine and feel sorry for myself.
I get a certain look from most people when they hear my first name is Kyle. First, I am a woman, I look like a woman and I hope I smell like a woman but I have this guy name. It is easy to understand the psycology behind my name, Meryl Streep, Glenn CLose, both guy names for very beautiful, intelligent, creative women. Thus I am Kyle Cameron.
