Concert Review: Matt Hires performs at the Paramount in Long Island

March 9, 2013

On March 9, Atlantic recording artist and singer-songwriter Matt Hires opened for Matchbox 20 for their show at the Paramount in Huntington, Long Island.

One of the highlight vocals in his set included the opening song “The Sound of Falling in Love,” which was melodically stunning and catchy.

“Thank you guys so much,” he remarked gratefully. “How are you doing tonight? Are we ready to have a good time tonight?”

Matt received a request from a female fan via Twitter to sing “A to B” and he fulfilled her request and his performance was well-received from the crowd.

“Thank you so much,” Matt said. “Are you all excited to see Matchbox 20? We love opening for those guys. It’s out seventh show and we are having a blast.”

He continued with “Forever” and concluded his set with his lead-off single “Restless Heart,” which was a fan-favorite since he had the audience clapping along with him midway through the song.

Overall, Matt Hires did a solid job on his vocal performance and you could sense the emotion in his voice. He was backed by a four-piece band, all of which were talented.
