The summer holiday season is fast approaching, and unfortunately, we cannot always take our dogs with us when we go on vacation. Here’s how to select a safe and comfortable facility for your dog to stay while you’re out of town.
Ideally, boarding your dog should be as much a vacation for him as it is for you, particularly if you travel frequently. Look for a facility that is clean, comfortable and that will allow you to board your dogs together and bring bedding and/or toys from home.
Ask to see the areas where your dog(s) will be kept. The staff should be willing to show you all parts of the facility. Look for a place that offers additional services, such as special one on one petting or play times, walks or treats.
Some boarding kennels also offer doggie day-care and even grooming as additional services. Make it so your dog has as much fun on his vacation as you do on yours!
