Even before Bioshock Infinite was released on March 26, the epic sci-fi first person shooter won 85 awards from E3; all of which have proven to be well earned.
Unlike the first two Bioshock titles which took place in the underwater city of Rapture, Infinite takes place above sea and above ground on the floating city of Columbia. Set in the nostalgic period of 1912, you play as former Pinkerton detective Booker DeWitt who is trying to work off a nasty debt by freeing a girl named Elizabeth from the hands, or claws, of a mysterious creature known as the Songbird.
The graphics are exceptional with creative robotic enemies and intriguing antagonists. Plus, a completely different environment brings a new perspective to the Bioshock series. The soundtrack kicks back and forth between classic 1912 piano tunes, gospel, and theatrical scores that are guaranteed to suck you into the action-packed, shoot ’em to hell game play. Rated 9.4 out of 10 on IGN’s scale, players can expect a thrilling story that will ensnare them from the very beginning.
Developed by Irrational Games, Bioshock Infinite is available for Playstation 3, XBox 360, and PC platforms.
