After an extended stay in Montana, Marianna Sommer returns to Indiana, back to her home state and the place where Amish traditions are so very much different. She has arrived back for a couple of reasons, one of which is to help her brother and his girlfriend prepare for the baby on the way. The second is to plan her wedding to Aaron Zook which she has been dreaming about since childhood. But while there it’s clear that things are much different, and she is much different now than when she was when she was brought up in Indiana. A lot of practices have changed her while in Montana, which certainly becomes evident when she returns to Indiana.
But as months pass on there are secrets that in hiding that now seem to take on a life of their own. There are truths about a child, a past relationship and about what God’s plans are that are to be revealed very soon. While walking through a valley of questions Marianna has to hold onto hope while she decides where and who her heart really belongs to.
This is the last book in the Big Sky Series. It is pretty good though the ending felt a bit unfinished to me. It didn’t have as much closure as one could hope it to have. That saying, it is still a pretty darn good book, full of scandal at some points and disappointment at others. There is a lot of happiness in-between, though. Aaron Zook just seems like a huge jerk, and kind of rubs you the wrong way. And Ben was always a nice sensitive guy – a winner in my book. You’ll have to read this to find out what happens, but it’s got a lot of story packed in a not so long book. It’s pretty much the perfect length for a novel, actually, apart from narrative considerations. And honestly it really makes one want to research the Amish lifestyle as it makes it super intriguing. I would totally recommend for you to start this series from the top. It was a great journey to read! Tricia Goyer always has a great writing style. This is available now, so go check it out!
