The same recording company that brought us Sami Yusuf, Maher Zain, and Mesut Kurtis, amongst others, is looking for their next big star.
Awakening Records is holding a worldwide talent contest to find the next big Muslim singers and has launched a social media platform to find the winners. Individuals from Egypt, Bosnia, the UK, and of course, America sent in their best crooning to woo the hearts of the world and gain a strong online following.
While the deadline for submissions was May 13th, voting is still open until the 17th of May. Thus far, 750 Youtube video submissions have been approved which means those are already in the second phase to winning one of three prizes: 1) A recording contract with Awakening Records, 2) Performing live with one of Awakening’s current artists, or 3) Receiving a gift collection from AwakeningStore.com worth $1000 in total. Full contest details and official press release at the link.
Awakening is encouraging online viewers and listeners to cast their vote for their favorite singer or ensemble and have made it easy with 4 playlist reels. Here are two standout performers in our book: Asma Bibi and Nura Huda Ali.
