So I am told I should not even be selling The Bruery Mischief Golden Belgian style ale in my store. Well in that case I have to try it! It is the forbidden ale. Comes in a nice looking bomber.
Appearance: Pouring it chilled in the appropriate Duvel tulip glass. Knowing the instability of Belgian golden ales, I poured it as delicately as possible and still yielded a gigantic, rocky, crowning head. The brew itself was a nice honeyed color.
Smell: underneath all of the heady bubbles was some nice lemongrass, orange rind, spicy hops, and bread.
Taste: After letting it sit for a moment to let the head dissipate, I sucked in some bubbles and got more of the lemony, citrus hops, cut grass, rye like spice, brown bread, and a nice tartness. I kept topping it off with each sip until it was gone. It was a very nice brew with an enjoyable taste that I never got negatively acclimated to.
