When you have a business, for it to be successful, you need people purchasing your products or services. Knowing that is the easy part, but how do you attract prospects to your online business? Here are three ways to help you do that…
1. Utilize social media for more than fun: Social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest are for more than just connecting with high school buddies, playing games and uploading photos. These kinds of websites are a great way for you to make connections with people all across the world, that you’ve never met and probably wouldn’t ever, if it weren’t for the internet.
People want to know that you are real and through social media they can get to know you. People join people and people buy from people that they like for the most part.
People also share things that they like or love with their friends. While you want to show that you are knowledgeable in your field, you don’t want your social media status updates to consist of only advertisements. Show that you care, connect with others and share as much of your world as you’re comfortable doing.
2. Develop your own blog or website. Your company website, affiliate websites or free websites can serve a purpose in your business, but your own website or blog is your home on the internet, the one place that you can be found no matter what.
In the event of the sites closing, you being removed from various business programs or your account deleted at free sites (believe that it does happen, those clauses are there for a reason) would you be out of commission for a while because you don’t have your own home base.
Some blogging sites don’t allow commercial use at all, but when you own your own domain you are free to talk about the things that you want to. Your company website has limitations too because there is only so much you can do with it and the site sits on a subdomain with everyone else’s site.
Your own top level domain is more appreciated within the search engines and more professional and respected in general. If you don’t want limits, develop your own blog or website where you are the boss.
Establish yourself as an authority from your own site and use other sites to bring traffic to your own websites, where people will get to know you and what you stand for, most likely if you have products and services that they can use, they will choose you because you have built trust with them.
3. Build your list A.S.A.P. instead of underestimating the power of a responsive list and waiting, just because you might be new to internet marketing or you’re not getting many sales yet. Your list is where you take it to the next level and build a deeper relationship.
People opt into your list because they want to hear what you have to say. With a list you maximize on the amount of people you can connect with, because chances are that most people who drop by your website will not return without a good reason.
Do you know how many websites are out there on the internet that they could be visiting and discovering? Why should they come back and revisit yours?
Use your list to provide value and direct readers to your blog, share sales and giveaways. While a good list builder and autoresponder will cost you some money upfront, it is well worth it as your subscribers, readers and sales climb higher.
When you don’t have a list, you will work so much harder to constantly bring new people to your site, products or services and not reconnecting with those who’ve already been to your site. Don’t you want to retain some of those visitors, maximizing on your traffic, building deep connections?
